Oils: The Good & The Bad

Not all oils are created equal. Seed oils are highly processed, inflammatory (increase hunger, decrease energy) and lead to long-term disease (diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s, obesity, auto-immune disorders). Avoid these seed oils as much as possible.

The Good Fruit oils that only require simple pressing.

  • avocado oil

  • coconut oil

  • olive oil

The Bad Seed oils that are highly processed. Avoid these seed oils as much as possible.

  • canola (rapeseed)

  • corn

  • cottonseed

  • grapeseed

  • peanut

  • rice bran

  • safflower

  • soy

  • sunflower

  • vegetable oil

An important note: Avoid the above bad oils even if they are marketed as “organic” or “expeller-pressed.”
